What Is TAUC?
TAUC - The Association of Union Constructors is a national trade association consisting of over 2,500 union contractors, local union contractor trade associations, and industry vendors and suppliers. The association is focused primarily on supporting contractors that perform steel erection, industrial maintenance and construction.
TAUC is dedicated to providing its members with the highest level of labor relations and safety services, as well as the promotion of positive labor-management programs in the construction industry. TAUC contractors are committed to improving the union construction industry through advances in contractor safety and health, competitive marketing, and labor-management cooperation.
TAUC National Headquarters is located in Arlington, Virginia just across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C. TAUC evolved from the National Erectors Association which was founded in 1969 by the leading union steel erectors in the construction industry. Over the years, NEA membership grew to include all types of union contractors and consequently, the name and structure of the association was changed to The Association of Union Constructors (TAUC) in 2007. The new organization reflects the changing face of the construction industry and more accurately reflects the growing diversity of TAUC Members.
