The Construction Safety Council held their 20th Annual Construction Safety Conference in Rosemont, IL February 16 ? 18, 2010. The conference featured top-quality speakers from all over the country covering a variety of safety and health subjects.
An awards program was part of the luncheon activities on Wednesday, February 17 and featured a new inductee into the Safety and Health Hall of Fame International (SHHOFI). SHOFFI was first considered during an annual meeting of the Veterans of Safety (VOS) in 1984. SHOFFI is dedicated to recognizing acclaimed leaders and pioneers for their innovative contributions and service to safety, health and environmental practice.
This year’s SHOFFI inductee is David MacCollum, CSP, PE. In addition to his work on engineering safety through better design, he has written the following books: Construction Safety Engineering Principles (2006); Building Design and Construction Hazards (2005); Construction Safety Planning (1995); and Crane Hazards and Their Prevention (1995). Congratulations David!
