Joint TAUC-NACBE Safety and Health Committee welcomes owners

March 5 2012

Last month, as part of an ongoing strategic alliance, the TAUC Safety and Health Committee held a joint meeting with the Safety Committee of the National Association of Construction Boilermaker Employers (NACBE.) in Des Plaines, Ill.

Representatives from two power industry customers participated in the meeting. Dialogue between the owner and contractor safety reps concentrated on economic issues affecting the industry and a shared desire to work together more closely on safety and health-related issues. The meeting was very well attended by representatives of both committees and a great deal of information was exchanged. Dialogue took place on several subjects, including:

  • Off the job safety
  • Safety in a Presidential Election Year
  • OSHA Regulatory Agenda
  • Substance Abuse
  • OSHA’s Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health (ACCSH)
  • ANSI A10 Accredited Standards Committee

The next joint TAUC-NACBE safety meeting will take place Thursday, Aug. 16, also in Des Plaines, Ill. Meanwhile, the next TAUC Safety Committee meeting will take place on Tuesday, May 15 as part of the 2012 TAUC Leadership Conference. Registration is required; you can register online here.
