Steve Burton, who led the Tri-State Building and Construction Trades Council for 24 years, recently retired. A special celebration held at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia drew union construction officials from around the country — including TAUC CEO and NMAPC Impartial Secretary/CEO Steve Lindauer, who presented Burton with a special plaque honoring his work with the NMAPC.
“Steve Burton always knew how to get things done, whether it was closing a deal on an upcoming project, dealing with a problem on a jobsite or simply brainstorming over an issue,” Lindauer said. “He was always pursuing the mission of representing the best the union construction and maintenance industry had to offer. Steve’s wisdom, tenacity and professionalism are attributes that would serve any individual in this business extremely well.”
