ARLINGTON, VA – The Association of Union Constructors (TAUC) has engaged Summit Strategies Government Affairs LLC to provide additional guidance and insight on the major policy and regulatory issues impacting our 2,000-plus member contractors in the union construction and maintenance industry.
Located in Washington, D.C., Summit Strategies will advise TAUC on a number of issues, including:
“Throughout 2013 and 2014, TAUC’s Government Affairs Division stepped forward and played a major role in advancing the cause of multiemployer pension reform,” said TAUC CEO Steve Lindauer. “We are confident that the momentum we built up these past two years will continue to grow throughout 2015 as focus shifts to the second round of reforms. But we don’t want to stop there. Going forward, our goal is to build on, and learn from, our past successes. Our partnership with Summit Strategies Government Affairs LLC will ensure that union contractors’ voices are heard on Capitol Hill.”
“Our goal is to work hand-in-hand with Summit Strategies to communicate our members’ viewpoints on a wide variety of legislative and regulatory issues,” added Todd Mustard, TAUC’s Senior Director of Government Affairs and Member Services. “We can’t – and won’t – sit on the sidelines while government bureaucrats and politicians make decisions that directly impact our members’ businesses and very livelihoods.”
“Summit Strategies is excited about the opportunity to work with TAUC in advancing the interests of union contractors on Capitol Hill and in Federal agencies,” said Summit Strategies Partner Jim Kolb. “We look forward to working aggressively to ensure that TAUC’s members’ voices are heard during upcoming legislative and regulatory policy debates impacting their businesses.”
