ARLINGTON, VA – The Association of Union Constructors (TAUC) and the National Maintenance Agreements Policy Committee, Inc. (NMAPC) are pleased to announce that Alexander Kopp has joined both organizations as Director of Environmental Health and Safety.

Prior to joining TAUC and NMAPC, Alex worked for Environmental Health & Safety Solutions Inc. as a safety professional supporting both owners and contractors on multiple projects throughout the United States. Residing in Pittsburgh, he has focused on providing safety excellence in the Utica and Marcellus Shale gas plays, particularly at the nation's largest gas processing facility in West Virginia.

Alex received his bachelor's in safety management from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. He retains professional memberships with the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP), National Safety Council (NSC) and the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP). He also retains his status as an instructor for the Petroleum Education Council (PEC).

In his new position, Alex will provide TAUC members and NMAPC signatory contractors with expert guidance and analysis on all health and safety-related issues and coordinate with industry partners, stakeholders and regulatory agencies on EHS-related matters. He will serve as the official TAUC liaison to the Environmental Health and Safety Committee, working with the chairperson to deliver timely, cutting-edge information to all committee members. In addition, Alex will coordinate two of the industry's most well-regarded safety recognition programs: TAUC's Thomas J. Reynolds Awards and NMAPC's Zero Injury Safety Awards®.

"Alex is a welcome addition to both TAUC and NMAPC," said Steve Lindauer, CEO of TAUC and Impartial Secretary/CEO of NMAPC. "He brings a wealth of knowledge and a great deal of energy to this vitally important position. He will serve as both organizations' voice for safety as we continue our joint mission of advocating for the safest, healthiest jobsites for union contractors and craftworkers."
