The Association of Union Constructors
The Association of Union Constructors evolved from the National Erectors Association, which was founded in 1969 by the leading union steel erectors in the construction industry. Over the years, membership grew to include all types of union contractors, and, consequently, the name and structure of the association was changed to The Association of Union Constructors in 2007. The new association reflects the changing face of the construction industry and more accurately reflects the growing diversity of TAUC members.
Our national headquarters is located in Arlington, Virginia, just across the Potomac River from downtown Washington, D.C.

2008 TAUC Leadership Conference

The Association of Union Constructors (TAUC) is gearing up for one of the most anticipated construction industry events of the year — The 2008 Leadership Conference.
The conference brings together leading union contractors, labor representatives, employer associations, and owners from across the country to discuss the future of union construction.
Four general presidents of international unions and the new President of the Building and Construction Trades Department have already agreed to serve as featured speakers. Also, a larger contingency of owner representatives and union contractors have been invited to attend this year.
“The Leadership Conference helps facilitate labor-management cooperation by providing a forum where stakeholders from all sides of the industry can come together to discuss emerging industry trends and share ideas about how to increase the value of union construction in the open market,” said Stephen R. Lindauer, CEO of TAUC.
The 2008 TAUC Leadership Conference will be held at the luxurious Fairmont Turnberry Isle Resort and Club in Miami, May 13-16.

As in previous years, the Thomas J. Reynolds Awards for Safety & Excellence in Construction and the Craftsperson of the Year Award for Ingenuity & Innovation in Construction will be presented during the Leadership Conference.
