TAUC Environmental Health and Safety Committee
The TAUC Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Committee is comprised of members who help guide the association’s safety and health policy. Quarterly meetings provide an excellent forum for members to network and discuss the latest issues.

OUR PARTNERS IN SAFETY
Strategic Alliance
TAUC maintains a strategic alliance with the National Association of Construction Boilermaker Employers (NACBE), Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA), National Electrical Contractors (NECA). All three groups share EHS-related information among our collective membership and work together on important safety and regulatory issues.

Drug Free Workplace Alliance
Medical marijuana, “bath salts” and prescription pain killers – all are current substance abuse trends that pose a problem in the workplace. TAUC has been an active participant in the Drug Free Workplace Alliance for several years. Originally pioneered through the Working Partners group, the Alliance continues to function and address substance abuse concerns relevant to the construction industry.

TAUC actively supports the CIASP and provides a platform in our EHS Committee meetings to discuss this stigma that hinders the construction industry. Suicides in construction continue to be ranked #1 in construction year in and year out. TAUC’s goal is to help change that statistic.

This group consist of 12 members and advises the Secretaries of Labor and Health and Human Services on OSHA programs and policies. TAUC continues to work toward building relationships with the agency to continue to improve the health and safety of the men and women in the field.
