The Association of Union Constructors
The Association of Union Constructors evolved from the National Erectors Association, which was founded in 1969 by the leading union steel erectors in the construction industry. Over the years, membership grew to include all types of union contractors, and, consequently, the name and structure of the association was changed to The Association of Union Constructors in 2007. The new association reflects the changing face of the construction industry and more accurately reflects the growing diversity of TAUC members.
Our national headquarters is located in Arlington, Virginia, just across the Potomac River from downtown Washington, D.C.

2023 Edition of TAUC's Exclusive Union Labor Supply Report Now Available

It’s finally here — one of the most anticipated industry studies of the year that contractors, crafts and clients rely on for accurate, up-to-date data on labor supply trends across the country!
The 2023 TAUC Union Craft Labor Supply Report marks the ninth year that The Association of Union Constructors (TAUC) has commissioned the Construction Labor Research Council (CLRC) to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the current state of the union construction and maintenance industry.
The report, based on a survey of nearly 500 industry respondents, reveals a “small” shortage of union craft labor during 2022. In fact, 69% reported a shortage of union craft labor in their organization in 2022, but most of the shortage (51%) was reported to be “Small.” On the other hand, There was again strong confidence in the growth prospects for the construction and maintenance industry. In fact, 81% projected growth with 26% projecting “Very Strong Growth” for 2023.
