TAUC Government Affairs Committee

At TAUC, one of our highest priorities is ensuring that our members’ collective voice is heard on Capitol Hill on crucial legislative and regulatory matters such as pension reform and infrastructure spending.

To that end, the TAUC Government Affairs Committee carries out the legislative policy of the national association by advancing the interests of our industry on Capitol Hill, representing TAUC before Congress and advising the association on how best to achieve legislative goals. Committee Members help guide the association’s government and legislative affairs policy as well as improve their organizations’ awareness of how regulation and legislation can impact their business.

In addition, Committee Members frequently meet with members of Congress and their staffs to work on legislative goals and improve their overall awareness of our industry’s needs.

The Government Affairs Committee is comprised exclusively of employees of TAUC Governing Members who are involved in the political and legislative side of the union construction and maintenance business. Each Governing Member has the ability to appoint one (1) of its employees to serve as its organization’s representative on the GAC Committee.

TOPICS COVERED BY THE COMMITTEE:

  • Multi-Employer Pension Reform and Composite Plans
  • Infrastructure Spending
  • Davis Bacon and Prevailing Wage
