TAUC is encouraging its membership to send the letter below to your representatives in Congress and any others which may have influence in order to help our country arrive at a more reasonable implementation timeline to execute proposed United States Environmental Protection Agency regulations.
The EPA’s recent and proposed regulations specifically on our nation’s power plants will directly affect jobs at coal-fired facilities, and the maintenance jobs that keep these facilities running. It is not possible for many of these plants to comply with the rules in the time allowed by the EPA. When those plants close, good jobs will be lost.
We all agree that we should work together to improve our environment, but we must do so in a responsible fashion that will not have a negative impact on our economy. A bill in the U.S. House of Representatives, H.R. 2401, promotes the flexibility of allowing these plants more time to perform the necessary retrofits for our clients in all industries to comply with the new regulations.
Thank you for your continued support as we work together to make projects safer and save U.S. jobs.
