Santillo elected TAUC president

“We have entered a challenging era . . . an era in which union construction needs to rise from the ashes of a reduced market share and reclaim its dominant position in the market,” Santillo said.

“If we act strategically, this could be the beginning of a millennial era of union maintenance and construction.”

Santillo has been an active member of the association for more than 20 years, and has served in a variety of capacities on the board of directors. He has more than 30 years of experience in the mechanical contracting, maintenance and fabrication fields.

Santillo holds an undergraduate degree from Clarion University, and an MBA from Duquesne University. He is also a graduate of the Small Company Management program at Harvard University.

With Santillo’s election came a transition among the TAUC Executive Committee. The new leadership group includes:

Secretary Thomas Van Oss, Cherne Contracting Corporation
Treasurer William Treharne, Midwest Steel
