TAUC Statement on Nomination of Marty Walsh for Labor Secretary

ARLINGTON, VA – The Association of Union Constructors (TAUC) commends President-elect Joe Biden for his selection of Boston Mayor Marty Walsh to lead the Department of Labor.

TAUC Chief Executive Officer Steve Lindauer noted, "Mayor Walsh is uniquely qualified to serve as Secretary of Labor. As a lifelong Laborer and former head of the Boston Building Trades, he understands the challenges today's craftworkers face and has shown a rock-solid commitment to improving safety on the jobsite. TAUC congratulates Mayor Walsh and looks forward to working with him on these and other issues of importance to the union construction and maintenance industry."
