The Association of Union Constructors
The Association of Union Constructors evolved from the National Erectors Association, which was founded in 1969 by the leading union steel erectors in the construction industry. Over the years, membership grew to include all types of union contractors, and, consequently, the name and structure of the association was changed to The Association of Union Constructors in 2007. The new association reflects the changing face of the construction industry and more accurately reflects the growing diversity of TAUC members.
Our national headquarters is located in Arlington, Virginia, just across the Potomac River from downtown Washington, D.C.

Cincinnati, OH – TAUC held its Summer Summit on August 13, 2014 and experts from across the construction and maintenance industry provided important, up-to-date information on various regulatory, legislative, economic and business topics with ample time for networking, making it a must-attend event for contractors, owners, and building trades representatives.
TAUC welcomed a number of speakers, including:
Gulf Coast Agreement that was negotiated between labor and management to provide significant value to owners in the Gulf Coast. This agreement could have an incredible impact on reintroducing union construction to a variety of customers who have not experienced our value in quite some time.

JOHN HENDRICKS, Director of Air Quality Services, American Electric Power. John has been with AEP since 1979 and has held numerous positions within the company’s Environmental Services Division. He oversees all air permitting and compliance activities for the AEP generation fleet. John provided an overview of the Environmental Protection Agency’s new and proposed regulations that are having an impact on AEP’s business, but will also impact the construction and maintenance work for many utility projects.
