The Association of Union Constructors
The Association of Union Constructors evolved from the National Erectors Association, which was founded in 1969 by the leading union steel erectors in the construction industry. Over the years, membership grew to include all types of union contractors, and, consequently, the name and structure of the association was changed to The Association of Union Constructors in 2007. The new association reflects the changing face of the construction industry and more accurately reflects the growing diversity of TAUC members.
Our national headquarters is located in Arlington, Virginia, just across the Potomac River from downtown Washington, D.C.

Tom Felton elected President of TAUC

Felton succeeded Robert Santillo, President of McCarl’s, Inc., who was honored with a special plaque and ceremony. “I look forward to turning over the reins to such an extremely competent individual,” Santillo said of Felton. “His strong work ethic will only enhance the high-quality team that is currently in place.”
“It is an honor to accept the position of President,” Felton said. “I appreciate the confidence the membership has placed in me.”
Felton pledged to work closely with members on a number of critical fronts, including educating contractors on the latest advancements in safety; identifying new business trends in the construction industry; and encouraging the formation of lasting tripartite relationships.
“As a trade association located just minutes from the U.S. Capitol, government affairs have always been a top priority for TAUC,” Felton added. “I look forward to expanding our role and strengthening our voice on matters vital to our membership…As I begin my tenure as president, I believe TAUC is uniquely positioned to advance the cause of union construction and help our members become more competitive and gain new market share.
“I am honored to serve as your new president, and I look forward to working with – and for – you in the coming years,” Felton concluded.
